Frequently asked questions
Before we say I do - here's some practical info:
We absolutely love children, but for our wedding weekend, we've chosen to keep it adults-only . This way, all guests can enjoy a relaxed and enjoyable weekend. Children from our immediate family (such as Elise's or Alan's siblings' children) are, of course, welcome, but we ask for your understanding that it's a child-free weekend. We want to make it a grown-up party, and how wonderful it is to be able to enjoy yourself without having to watch your children!
We're already thrilled that you're coming to celebrate with us this weekend and that you're taking the time to book your trip and accommodations. That's why we think it's perfectly understandable that you don't bring a gift. If you would still like to bring a gift, we'd appreciate it in the form of a contribution to our wedding or honeymoon.
On Friday evening, July 31st, we'll kick off the weekend with a pizza night for everyone staying overnight at the venue. The atmosphere will be relaxed and summery, with a nod to both Italy and the Netherlands: Azzurro & Oranje .
Think light, elegant outfits (linen, cotton, or satin) with a touch of blue (azzurro) or orange/terracotta, like a scarf or belt, for example. The most important thing is that everyone feels comfortable and enjoys pizza, wine, and a long summer evening together to kick off the weekend!
For the wedding on August 1st, we're using the Tenue de Ville dress code. This means festive and stylish, fitting for a special day. For men, we're thinking of a formal suit or jacket with trousers, a shirt, and a tie or bow tie. For women, we prefer long, festive, and elegant dresses. Visit this website for practical information (https://www.theperfectwedding.nl/artikelen/3896/dresscode-tenue-ville).
We'd like to keep the program partly a surprise and will share further details on location. However, we can already share the highlights with you:
• Friday, July 31 : Pizza night for overnight guests, starting at 7 p.m.
• Saturday, August 1 : The ceremony starts around 6:00 PM
You'll receive all other information during the weekend itself. This way, we can relax and enjoy each other's company without a strict schedule.
